A Letter to Mausi
ReplyDeleteHey Mausi, wish you a very Happy Mother's day. I can imagine you smiling down right now reading all this and seeing your daughter and adorable little grand-daughter's immense love. Just want to add to it that you've been an amazing mother to me as well, and your daughter continues to do the same at a whole new level :)Your warm hug in that maxy that you wore was very comforting to me as child whenever mom was not around. Your stories and patient answers to my irritating questions always encouraged me to ask you more of them, however stupid they may be. Gudiya di might not know about this, but there was a time when i asked you why dirty things are considered dirty? After all it was made by god only. You dint know how to answer to this vague question but you very sportingly participated in the conversation which only became more interesting to me. You smiled and said that if you pray to god in the washroom, it would be considered a little inappropriate to do so. I don't remember the rest of the conversation but somehow i have your image clearly sketched out in my mind of that summer afternoon in your house. I just want to tell you that I really miss you and want to congratulate you for the amazing children you have raised. :) Wish you a very Happy mothers day once again.
