An Achievement

I have been told by many, that you have a good IQ and I agree.
So, I was not at all surprised when you cleared a school competiton for Pre School Bee and reached the Inter School Competiotion.

I must admit that I was little surprised by your dedication to move to State level though. You worked hard and studied everyday to beat Inter School and reach State Level.

I am proud of you and waiting to see how you do at State level.

First Day First Class

जा तेरे स्वप्न बड़े हों।
भावना की गोद से उतर कर
जल्द पृथ्वी पर चलना सीखें।
चाँद तारों सी अप्राप्य ऊचाँइयों के लिये
रूठना मचलना सीखें।
हँसें
मुस्कुराऐं
गाऐं।
हर दीये की रोशनी देखकर ललचायें
उँगली जलायें।
अपने पाँव पर खड़े हों।

Rough Translation..
May you dreams become big
From emotional philosphy they come to ground
may your dreams rise to heights Moons and Stars and throw tantrums for those.
May your dreams Smile, be happy and sing.
They should look forward to light and lamps and burn their fingers playing with those.
May you dreams become big and stand on theie feet.

The First Game of Scrabble

I took out my old but very dear Scrabble and you were interested to play.
We played for an hour almost and your interest didnt falter even a bit in between..

But, the best part, YOU WON. The very first game you not only got the game correct you also won.
The words which you thought up and made on your own QUIL ( I let you skip an L)  WIN,MAT.
The word WIN left me speechless because there was absolutely no hint, no prompt and no help from me to put that up on the board.

Mumma got 72 points and you got 79 points.

This is also a first for me, Not sulking after loosing :)

Religious or Spiritual???

I want a barbie doll house.. Usme bhagwan ki bhi jagah honi chahiye....

The First PTM

Today for first time we attended your first formal school PTM.

It was full of surprises all along.

1. Prashasti has improved a lot (Big surprise since I always thought you are pretty consistent and doing ok in class generally.)

2. Initially she was slow and was not very interested. ( Oh.. I was speechless you were always so interested in finishing your homework and generally like to write and try reading.)

3. From past two weeks she has improved so much as if there was some magic. She is interested , does her work on time and is very active. ( I didn't notice any change whats so ever)

Teachers were generally full of appreciation and positive about your progress.

This was also the first time I realized that you are developing a personality of your own and a part of you is not known to me.

Hope I will enjoy this phase and will not sulk so much.

Mumma has been unfair

As they say that a mother has to teach good things to kids.
I am trying to do so by making an example.

Owning up when you make a mistake.

I have been making a mistake and been unfair to you.

Asking you to clean up the room alone when I know others contributed in making a mess there.
Scolding you for being uncouth when I know you are merely copying others and it is acceptable for them to be so.
Expecting you to behave yourself nicely when no one else is doing that.

I know this isn't fair and I promise that I will not do that again but at the same time I will also not step back in ensuring that you learn good things and avoid picking up bad habits.

Katrina Kaif Ka Mama

I have a book by Rashmi Bansal called " I have a dream". It is about some social enterprenuers.
The book is paper back and hence pages are yellowish. There are photographs of people about whom the book is.

You picked up that book, looked at one of the pictures and asked papa, do you know who he is?
Papa was half asleep and in no mood of a conversation and so he said, No, I dont know

You thought for sometime and said.

"Apko malom nahi ye Katrina Kaif ka Mama hai"

both of us rolled on the floor laughing..

and I found it so hilarious that I told everyone..
You hate me for telling this to everyone and probably will hate me for even putting it up here.

but, I will always laugh at this one..
