You, my princess, are a creative soul, a classical dancer and a chatter box:)
the best in everything you do.
What you are not ..is an active sports person.
So when I got the news that you fell down and have hurt your hand, my first thought was of surprise instead of worry.
How can a kid who doesn't run around unnecessarily, fall down and got hurt badly.
Apparently an innocuous game of hide and seek and running to hide resulted in a fall on concrete and caused the hand to be slightly bent.
I had no idea how bad it was because I was out of town.
So I came to know the xray results on phone and it was confirmed to be a break and bend of bone.
I came back and next morning we had to get admitted to hospital for a procedure to straighten the bone.
The previous night became a nightmare not because it was hurting but because of anticipation of pain next morning :)
Next morning in hospital also the anticipation of pain was more than pain itself.
After the general anesthesia and small procedure in OT, when you were resting in Post Op area and slowly coming back to senses you uttered the first words which were music to my ears
"Mumma, I love you"
I was on seventh heaven and pleased that everything was fine.
You were brave enough to go to school the next day itself, with the intention of showing off the cast to your friends and have them write on it.
Bad - you were in a cast for 4.5 weeks and you missed your annual performance of Bharatnatyam
Good - we had so much fun getting the cast autographed by friends, having mumma to bathe you everyday and help with clothing
Best - We learnt that anticipation of pain is worse than pain itself.
Here is to Bring Brave and have fun in adversity
Cheers!!!
